Beaches are some of Bali’s best assets apart from its friendly Balinese people, the incredible culture, gorgeous rice fields, mountains and lakes, unique resorts, restaurants, boutiques and night life. Have you ever heard of a beach with black sand, or the hidden beach that you must pass hundreds of steps with wild monkey around to get there?
Nyang-Nyang Beach
Nyang-Nyang is a beach with white sands surrounded by a towering green cliff. This secluded beach is perfect for a little adventure as you must go down to 500 of steps that finally open up to the beach. So, getting there might be an adventure itself, but it’s definitely worth the effort.
Green Bowl Beach
Named because of its algae-covered rocks that are seen at low tide, Green Bowl Beach is truly an abandoned paradise, which remains known to only a few people. Although the beach is difficult to find, it is a stunning example of Bali’s natural beauty. To get to the beach, you have to go through hundreds of concrete steps, before you can sink your feet into the sand.
Black Beauty Beach
It’s actually a common sight in Amed, which boasts of unique black sand beaches due to the volcanic in the coastal soil. It’s also a perfect spot to learn snorkelling and diving, and the reef is a short distance away by boat in calm waters. One thing you should try is the seafood. It is one of the region’s best and make sure to try the locally harvested salt for a taste of the seaside.
Sekumpul Waterfalls
For the adventurous people, here’s your chance to try out another challenge: Sekumpul Waterfall. Getting to the waterfall is very difficult, and you must go down through many slippery steps and across a river to see the waterfalls close-up. The interesting fact about Sekumpul Waterfall is instead of one waterfall, there are seven! (“sekumpul” means “group” in Indonesian). Nungnung Waterfall
Located nine hundred metres above sea level and in a small village in the middle of nowhere, getting there is a real challenge. You must pass around 500 steps to reach the waterfalls, then you’ll be greeted with a magnificent view of the waterfall and rice paddies all around.
Aling-Aling Waterfall
This waterfalls located 11km from the city of Singaraja and it’s unique for a very special reason. The 35 metres tall Aling-Aling Waterfall is split at the top leaving two beautiful waterfalls stream. The most unique thing about this waterfall is the water flowing down has created a natural water slide!
